This is not something you see everyday, but I have certainly seen similar plays. When you hit the ball, bolt to first base until someone calls it foul.

Want to understand why? Before the ball gets to the bases, it is neither fair nor foul until it is either touched or proceeds past said bases. The ball in play is automatically foul if it hits foul ground first beyond the bases.
